AFCEA International Welcomes New Regional Vice Presidents

We are delighted to announce that our team of regional vice presidents (RVPs) has grown bigger with the addition of Carl Mills, CEO of CaVU Consulting Inc., and Trevor Bender, director of Business Development at Cypher Analytics.

Mills, who currently leads a veteran-owned IT firm providing services to the U.S. government in the greater San Diego area, will be serving AFCEA in the Southwestern Region. His responsibilities will extend to the Southern Arizona, Tucson and Valley of the Sun chapters.

“I am humbled and honored to serve the Southwestern Region,” Mills says. “I’m excited to have a broader impact with more chapters and communities, and I’m looking forward to building stronger connections across the chapters and AFCEA International headquarters.”

Meanwhile, Bender, a San Diego professional in the IT field, will serve the Southern California Region. His responsibilities will extend to the Camp Pendleton and San Diego chapters.

Bender says he looks forward to “being the voice of chapters in the Southern California Region and conveying their success and challenges to AFCEA headquarters, and helping to reinforce best practices for continued growth of AFCEA across the region.”

RVPs serve as liaisons between AFCEA International headquarters and our chapters. They represent the pinnacle of a volunteer leadership position within the AFCEA region and chapter structure and work with chapters to support operational objectives. While providing necessary insight, RVPs are responsible for promoting collaboration with and among other chapters.

AFCEA International is a professional membership association for those engaged in cyber, defense, intelligence, security and all related technology disciplines. Members come from military, government, industry and academic organizations and individuals worldwide. Offerings include thought leadership, networking, career advancement, media access and professional development opportunities. AFCEA supports those who respond, protect, secure and serve, as well as their industry and academia partners, and in turn, helps its members align technology and strategy to meet the needs of the global defense and security community. With 138 chapters, AFCEA serves those who serve around the globe.

We extend our congratulations and welcome Carl Mills and Trevor Bender to the team. We look forward to seeing you both succeed in your regions.
