DARPA Awards Three Dispersed Computing Contracts
BAE Systems Inc., Burlington, Massachusetts, was awarded a $9,725,094 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (HR001117C0048) for a research project under the Dispersed Computing (DCOMP) program solicited under Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency broad agency announcement 16-41 (DARPA-BAA-16-41). The DCOMP program will produce software instantiations of algorithms and protocol stacks that leverage pervasive, physically dispersed computing platforms to boost application and network performance by orders of magnitude. Work will be performed in Burlington, Massachusetts, with an expected completion date of April 2021. Fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) funding in the amount of $217,500 and fiscal 2017 RDT&E funding in the amount of $1,045,000 are being obligated at time of award.
LGS Innovations LLC, Florham Park, New Jersey, was awarded a $7,598,477 contract (HR001117C0050). Work will be performed at Florham Park, New Jersey, with an expected completion date of April 2021. Fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) funding in the amount of $165,000 and fiscal 2017 RDT&E funding in the amount of $775,000 are being obligated at time of award.
Vencore Labs Inc., doing business as Applied Communication Sciences, Basking Ridge, New Jersey, was awarded a $10,345,758 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (HR001117C0047). Work will be performed in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with an expected completion date of April 2021. Fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) funding in the amount of $187,500; and fiscal 2017 RDT&E funding in the amount of $975,000 are being obligated at time of award. These contract were a competitive acquisition with 42 offers were received. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Arlington, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
