New Online Cybersecurity Training Initiative
AFCEA to offer 34 cybersecurity courses based on the U.S. federal government FedVTE through Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute.
At the AFCEA International Cyber Symposium on June 25 at the Baltimore Convention Center, AFCEA will announce an agreement with the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute to provide a comprehensive online cybersecurity training program.
Based on the U.S. federal government FedVTE, STEPfwd includes access to 34 cybersecurity courses, many of which serve as preparation for key cybersecurity certifications in support of DoD 8570.01-M requirements.
Each subscription is good for one year of unlimited access for the registered individual. Group discounts will be available using the AFCEA Educational Foundation voucher program. All you can learn for one low price. For information, go to www.afcea.org/membership/default.htm.
In addition, AFCEA event content often supports continuing education units (CEUs)/certification maintenance units (CMUs) for CompTIA and GIAC certifications. At WEST 2013, the foundation documented participation of 1,005 attendees and at EAST 2013 764 attendees at pre-approved sessions. Qualified sessions also will be available at the Cyber Symposium and TechNet Augusta.
