Elbit Receives Urgent Need Contract for Laser Target Designator

Elbit Systems of America, dba Kollsman, Incorporated, Merrimack, New Hampshire, is being awarded a contract potentially valued at more than $10 million for the Joint Terminal Attack Controller Laser Target Designator (JTAC LTD). The basic contract will be for three first article units, 150 production units, a lot of initial issue spares and training. The JTAC LTD is being procured to meet the requirements of an urgent universal needs statement. It is a lightweight, man-portable, state-of-the-art laser target designator/marker that permits warfighters to rapidly bring effective fires to bear on hostile targets. The JTAC LTD is intended to provide dismounted Marines with a designation and marking capability that is immediately accessible. The Marine Corps System Command, Quantico, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
