L-3 Wins Consolidated Air Force Satellite Control Network Contract
L-3 National Security Solutions (NSS), Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been awarded a $43,874,673, fixed-price incentive contract for Consolidated Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) modifications, maintenance and operations. Contractor will provide continued operations and maintenance at AFSCN mission locations, AFSCN factory compatibility testing and phase in sustainment activities for same systems. The AFSCN is a critical operational national resource used to deploy and operate national security space systems. It provides globally distributed telemetry, tracking and commanding support for pre-launch, deployment and on-orbit anomaly resolution and disposal operations. Work will be performed at Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory; U.S. Territory of Guam; Ka'ena Point, Hawaii; New Boston Air Force Station, New Hampshire; Thule Air Force Base, Greenland; Vandenberg Air Force Base, California; Bordon, Hants, United Kingdom; and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. Work is expected to be complete by December 12, 2023. This award is the result of a competitive acquisition with four offers received. Fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $5,710,372 are being obligated at the time of award. The Space and Missile Systems Center, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, is the contracting activity (FA8823-16-C-0004).
