Stara Tech to Provide Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems in Afghanistan
Stara Technologies Incorporated, Gilbert, Arizona, is being awarded more than $22 million for Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems (PGSS) Phase II for the U.S. Army. Stara will fabricate nine additional PGSS back-up systems with wide area surveillance-enabled sensors that are powered through existing renewable energy resources; install electro optical/infrared wide area surveillance on six existing PGSS back-up systems; and install all systems in theater and integrate surveillance data onto PGSS and the Afghan Mission Network/Centrix system. The U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.
