CSRA to Provide Tactical Trainers for Littoral Combat Ship

Under a $51 million, 3.5 year delivery order on the Training Systems Contract III, Falls Church, Virginia-based CSRA Incorporated will develop and deliver Integrated Tactical Trainers (ITTs) for the Littoral Combat Ship 6, Independence variant, in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Fla. The ITTs will be installed and operated at the Littoral Combat Training Facility in San Diego. The ITTs will be used as part of CSRA's VirtualShip training platform to help the Navy train its bridge teams for operations at sea. The training platform is an advanced ship and systems simulation software that incorporates high fidelity hydrodynamics, maritime environmental modeling, and it interfaces with external systems and other simulations. The platform supports customers in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, United Kingdom Royal Navy, and others. It currently models 300 ship types and 100 geographic areas. “We are absolutely committed to delivering the tools the Navy needs to hone the ship handling skills of Surface Warriors, making their vital operations at sea safer and more effective,” said Nick Trzcinski, CSRA’s Vice President for Navy & USMC.
