LT George T. Denove serves as the first Hard Targets aligned fellow within the National Security Agency’s Junior Officer Cryptologic Career Program (JOCCP). In this role, he has redefined how the Navy prepares for 21st century conflict by advancing capabilities to counter adversary Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (C-C5ISRT) systems.
While supporting the NSA’s Office of China and the Pacific, LT Denove led cross-functional teams from INDOPACOM and PACFLT to deliver sensitive intelligence that directly informed theater operations. His work produced critical reports briefed to the INDOPACOM Commander and other senior Intelligence Community leaders, providing high-level insights into adversary systems. Additionally, while supporting USCYBERCOM Task Group FOUR, he developed novel discovery tradecraft that enabled eight successful cyber operations and mentored twelve joint service members on advanced technical capabilities. Recognizing a need for institutionalized expertise, he designed the Navy’s first developmental pipeline for Hard Targets, transforming JOCCP into a repeatable model for producing warfare-ready leaders.
As the JOCCP Officer Professional Development Lead for over 70 joint service fellows, LT Denove champions the integration of tactical tradecraft with strategic naval vision. He operates on the principle that no warfare domain is mutually exclusive. His goal is to bridge the gap between Cryptologic and Unrestricted Line communities to ensure all service members understand that mastery of the information environment is the decisive factor in modern maritime dominance. By focusing on C-C5ISRT, LT Denove ensures that joint forces maintain a lethal advantage in any high-end fight.
