In the context of digital transformation, the
cloud continues to exhibit a significant growth
trend with innovative services such as SASE
(Secure Access Service Edge), which combines
advanced data transport technologies (SD-WAN) with
enhanced security services (SSE, Security Service
Edge) like ZTNA, NGFW, SWG, and CASB. Mobility
security and "Zero Trust" access to services are
increasingly pressing needs for organizations.
This profound revolution necessitates a
technological deep dive to understand how to
balance cybersecurity with the growing demand for
agility.
A major driving force behind these innovative
services is the development of increasingly high-
performance transport technologies like 5G. New
technologies also bring new frontiers and
opportunities for cyberattacks, and for this
reason, the recent mobile technology must be
protected from both physical and logical
vulnerabilities, in both the core network and
potential tactical bubbles. The implementation of
these bubbles allows for an autonomous
communication and security system during mission
activities.
Naturally, all of this generates large amounts of
data and information, which are objectively
difficult to analyze quickly through manual
processes. Hence the need for state-of-the-art
SOCs (Security Operation Centers), equipped with
the most modern analysis tools based on machine
learning and generative AI, capable of identifying
anomalies in a short time and ensuring response
times appropriate to the increasingly complex and
sophisticated cyber threats.
In recent years, it has become increasingly
important to anticipate the detection of cyber
threats, particularly in the initial preparation
phase. In this context, even small interceptions
could reveal significant attack vectors before
they are utilized. In this area, "Active
Deception" solutions are becoming increasingly
effective, building on the legacy concept of the
"honeypot" and improving its effectiveness in
terms of management, integration, automation, and
Incident Response.
Innovative cloud services, new transport
technologies to secure, AI-driven SOC solutions,
and cyber tools to anticipate threats: these are
the topics AFCEA Capitolo di Roma aims to explore
in its activities related to cybersecurity. |
