At the chapter's September meeting, Ruth Fleming, chapter president, welcomed Dawn Ainger, chief executive officer of Genova Technologies, which joined the chapter as a new corporate member. Genova Technologies provides custom software application solution services that streamline and update clients' business processes.

In June, the chapter held its third annual golf tournament, which raised $7,600 for the chapter's educational scholarship fund.

In April, the chapter presented awards to outstanding ROTC cadets who have demonstrated excellence in leadership and academics. Cadet Mark Kresser, Army ROTC, and Cadet James R. Johnson, Army ROTC, both of Cyclone Battalion, Iowa State University, were the recipients.

IOWA CHAPTER - 11/02/2006
The Iowa Chapter presented Science Teaching Tools award worth $1,000 to Washington Elementary School in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The school will use the grant money to help students study the development of fossil fuels with the aide of energy models and power house kits.

The Iowa Chapter held another successful luncheon on September 28, 2006, with special guest speaker John J. Garstka from the OSF, U.S. DOD. John shared with chapter members the message of network-centric warfare.

IOWA CHAPTER - 09/08/2006
The first annual Iowa Chapter Golf Outing, which benefitted the chapter's educational scholarship fund, raised $3,300, exceeding the proposed goal of $2,500. Corporate members Rockwell Collins and Crystal Group were the event and beverage sponsors respectively.
