LONDON CHAPTER - 06/26/2024
In June, the chapter marked the 70th anniversary of its formation back in 1954, with a formal dinner held in the Founders' Dining Hall at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Many VIP Guests including past chapter presidents and seniors from defense, government and academia were among approximately 200 people who attended. The dinner was hosted by Air Cdre Mike Wilson, RAF, chapter president, and a very fitting after-dinner speech was given by Maj. Gen. Bill Robins, British Army (Ret.).
Maj. Gen. Erich Staudacher, GEAF (Ret.), general manager of AFCEA Europe, delivered a message of congratulations and a certificate of recognition on behalf of Lt. Gen. Susan Lawrence, USA (Ret.), CEO and president of AFCEA International.
Gen. Staudacher also presented Air Cdre (now AVM) Tom Ashbridge, RAF, immediate past president, with his Chairman's Superior Service Award from AFCEA International.

LONDON CHAPTER - 06/20/2022
In June, approximately 180 delegates attended the chapter's Annual TriCyCIS Conference held at Royal Holloway, University of London's Egham Campus.
The pandemic meant that this was the first time that the conference had been held since 2019, so there was a real thirst to bring the community together. The event was themed around "Accelerating Into the Information Age - Innovation, Integration, Implementation."
After laying out some of the context, including implications of the war in Ukraine, and reviewing the technology opportunities in the morning sessions, the afternoon focused on the practical challenges of delivering national security in the Information Age.
There was an excellent range of Keynote Speakers and Presenters drawn from across defense, industry, academia and government, including a cameo performance by a robotic dog from the DE&S Robotics Centre of Excellence. LONDON CHAPTER - 10/03/2019
At its October meeting, the chapter held its Annual General Meeting and election of chapter officers. Jacqui Chard, deputy director, National Cyber Security Center, was warmly welcomed as the new chapter president by the outgoing president, Air Commodore Nick Lloyd (Ret.), deputy chief information security officer and head of cyber security plans and engagement, Maersk. After the formalities were completed, Lloyd gave a presentation on the lessons learned by his company from the June 2017 NotPetya malware cyber attack.

LONDON CHAPTER - 06/19/2019
The chapter is one of the oldest of AFCEA International, founded in February, 1954. In June, the chapter marked its 65th Anniversary at the Annual Cyber Dinner in the Founders' Dining Hall at Royal Holloway University of London, when it hosted many of the past chapter presidents and longtime "friends of the chapter" as VIP guests. AFCEA's first chapters in Europe were founded by U.S. forces associated with NATO, Combined and U.S. Headquarters in Paris in 1952 and London in 1954. During the late 1970s/early 1980s, the ability to sustain the commitment of senior U.S. officers to the chapter against a background of a reducing number of U.S. bases in Europe had become difficult, and the chapter languished for a period of time.
