NAPLES CHAPTER - 06/21/2017
The chapter held its third Military Metrology for AeroSpace workshop in June in parallel with the fourth IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Aerospace. This year, the event was a collaboration with Stefano Debei, professor of measures at the University of Padua; Pasquale Daponte, professor of measures at the University of Sannio; Silvia Ullo, professor of signal theory at the University of Sannio; and Chapter President Dario Nicolella. The event was held at Palazzo Zacco at Prato della Valle in Padua, and attendees were welcomed by Col. Carlo Libanori. Among the speakers were professor Pasqualino Boschetto, president of the Engineers Association in Padua; Capt. NAPLES CHAPTER - 03/12/2012
In March, professor Michele Capasso greeted the members of chapter along with other prominent international personalities, both military and civil, in the Maison Mèditerranée, the headquarters of an institution founded and run by Capasso on the coast of the Gulf of Naples. Italo Biddittu, an internationally known palaeontologist and finder of the famous homo cepranensis, ran the ceremony, which covered the history of human communication from its origins until present day and coincided with the chapter's 50th anniversary.
Kent Schneider, president and chief executive officer of AFCEA International, celebrated the birthday with a speech and a nameplate. Lt. Col. Guido Giordano, ITAF, and Elpidio Iorio awarded him with Maccus Atellanus, a copy of an original masterpiece that is in the Louvre in Paris.

In October, the chapter Assembly and Steering Committee joins the Italian Air Force Academy for an event hosted by the Prehistoric Museum of Pofi.

NAPLES CHAPTER - 07/05/2011
In May, Professor Italo Biddittu, the paleontologist who unearthed a hominid skullcap that dates back almost 900,000 years, welcomed the chapter to the in the Prehistoric Museum of Pofi near Cassino, Italy. Biddittu, a retired Army technician, joined his assistants to show his “Argil,” as well as a precious and still working U.S. Army tube tester dating back to October 30, 1946, which was released by Dwight D. Eisenhower.

NAPLES CHAPTER - 03/29/2010
Cdr. Robert Howell, RN (Ret.), general manager of AFCEA Europe, visited the chapter in March to share his vision of the military's direction in information technology, homeland security and defense. Lt. Col. Guido Giordano, ITAF, chapter president, and Michele Capasso, president of Fondazione Mediterraneo (FM), hosted the meeting at La Maison de la Méditerranée with guests from NATO and National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) communities. Also at the meeting, Cdr. Howell approved a memorandum of understanding between the chapter and FM, an international nonprofit organization composed of specialists, scholars, politicians with international and diplomatic experience, and professionals involved in Mediterranean affairs.
