Command Sergeant Major Notes Significant Year

The chapter cosponsored the June luncheon with the SCRA. Command Sgt. Maj. Tyrone Johnson, USA, CECOM Life Cycle Management Command, served as the distinguished speaker. He noted that this year is both the 149th birthday of the Signal Corps and the Year of the Noncommissioned Officer (NCO). The major recounted Fort Monmouth's history and the contributions CECOM has made to the Signal Corps and the Army during its 92 years. He also paid tribute to the number of NCOs who have served in combat operations from the Vietnam War to operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. New officers for the 2009-2010 year also were elected.
