GREATER MONMOUTH CHAPTER CHAPTER - Jun 27, 2006

AFCEA Fort Monmouth is committed to promoting AFCEA's science and engineering fields. At the annual education dinner award recipients were acknowledged and over $97,000 including $7,500 to AFCEA International was presented. The awards included 15 scholarships to local area students, 19 scientific grants to area high schools and five Science Teaching Tools Awards to middle schools in addition to grants given to the Boy Scouts of America and the InfoAge Science-History Learning Center, Wall, New Jersey, a new learning center for grade school students.
    The chapter also presented 12 science fair awards in conjunction with Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, New Jersey, as well as eight Young AFCEAN grants recognizing the best essays explaining which nation is the United States' largest threat and how to counteract that threat. All of the awards were given to help promote science and encourage students to become scientists and engineers.
