The chapter held its inaugural Industry Days from September 21-23 at the Marriott Hotel on the Savannah River. A golf tournament on Monday was followed by panels on Tuesday. The first panel featured U.S. Army Signal Center project officers, who discussed homeland defense/civil support, network operations and Brigade Combat Team reorganization. Luncheon speaker Chief Sgt. Maj. Thomas Clark, USA, Army Signal Center, recognized noncommissioned officers, who then gave their views on where industry could help. Signal NCOs from the Regimental NCO Academy and soldiers from the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade composed the two panels. Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Sorenson, USA, Army Chief Information Officer/G-6, began Wednesday's overview of the Global Network Enterprise Construct (GNEC), followed by experts reviewing lessons learned from a recent exercise testing the GNEC. |
