SOUTHERN ARIZONA CHAPTER CHAPTER - Oct 13, 2009 |
In October, the chapter hosted its 27th Annual Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) Systems Technology Exhibition at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The city of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and officials from Fort Huachuca helped kick off the event. More than 100 companies and 400 company representatives participated in the exhibition, which is the largest of its kind in southeastern Arizona. The conference provided networking opportunities for members of government, academia, military and industry. Events included receptions, a golf tournament, a keynote dinner, technical exhibits and a career fair. Col. Michelle Fraley, USA, chief of staff, U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command/9th Army Signal Command (NETCOM/9th ASC), provided the keynote address to more than 150 attendees. Lt. Gen. John A. Dubia, USA (Ret.), executive vice president of AFCEA International; Dave Grundies, southwestern regional vice president, AFCEA International; and Sierra Vista Mayor Bob Strain participated in various events. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Buena High School's show band performed "The Star-Spangled Banner," and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9972 Honor Guard posted the colors. |
