Briefing on Information Assurance |
At the chapter's April luncheon, guest speaker David Robbins, information assurance manager, Marine Corps Installations West, discussed information assurance (IA) and briefed attendees on Defense Department IA policies and procedures. He focused on the responsibilities that the various command IA workforces play in protecting the network. Additionally, with the new authorization to access social networking sites, such as Facebook, creation of local unit policies is vital in educating network users on their part in protecting the network, said Robbins. Regional Vice President Dave Grundies was on hand to accept a $5,000 donation to the chapter's Wounded War Veterans Scholarship fund from Rick Hancock, vice president, business systems, QinetiQ – North America. |
