In August, Michael Swanson, technical manager, Information Technology Department, U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, spoke with members of the chapter on the chronological development of information technology and its direct impact on Navy medicine on Okinawa from 1994 to present day. Attendees included Lt. Col. Jason Sutton, chapter vice president, along with representatives from government and military agencies, such as the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, G-6 Marine Communications, 18th Communications Squadron and the 58th Signal Battalion, and private industry representatives such as Tribalco, Anixter, Summit Industrial Group, Spearpoint, Team EITC, American Engineering and Iron Bow. Topics highlighted during the event included systems management, networks, desktop and account management, telephony, and pager and radio communication. At the end of the briefing, Swanson received a chapter coin from Col. Sutton. |
