Panel Discusses Health IT |
In November, the chapter hosted a panel discussion on health information technology reform. Michael Carleton, chief information officer (CIO) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), moderated the discussion. Panelist included Julie Boughn, CIO and director, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, HHS; James Garvie, special assistant to the CIO, Indian Health Service, HHS; Jim Speros, special assistant of the chief technology officer, Department of Veteran Affairs; and Capt. Michael Weiner, USN, deputy program manager and chief medical officer, Defense Health Information Management System. The event, held at the Bethesda North Marriot and Conference Center, was standing room only. |
