Speakers Address Battle Requirements

In January, the chapter partnered with the Association of the United States Army for the 10th annual Warfighter TechNet Conference in Orlando. The speakers provided outstanding insight in line with the conference theme of “Supporting the Warfighters Evolutionary Battle Space Requirements.” Keynote speaker Maj. Gen. Susan Lawrence, USA, special assistant to the U.S. Army vice chief of staff, set the tone for the examination of battle space requirements in land, sea, air and space operations. Panel members stressed the importance of assessing the requirements of the services and developing the capabilities to meet these evolutionary challenges. Speakers included: Maj. Gen. Mark Bowman, USA; Maj. Gen. Stephen R. Layfield, USA; Maj. Gen. Randy Strong, USA; Maj. Gen. Nick Justice, USA; Brig. Gen. N. Lee S. Price, USA; Cindy Moran; Douglas Wiltsie; Col. Mark Churchwell, USA; Col. David Barlow, USA; and Rob Reyenga.

In addition, the conference included two professional education development sessions: Medical Simulation and Training, led by Lt. Gen. Tom Baptiste, USAF (Ret.), and Military Mobile Apps: Initiatives and Opportunities, led by Dr. Roger Smith. They addressed the role both endeavors play to enhance and sustain the warfighter's combat capabilities. Jerry Stahl presided as conference chair while Col. Fred Eisele, USA (Ret.), served as program chair.
