Chapter Focuses on Radio Propagation

In April, the chapter sponsored a conference on “Radio Propagation.” The event was held at the Argentina Army University in Buenos Aires. Patricio Marco, member, chapter advisory council, addressed approximately 95 attendees. Topics included variations of the ionosphere, ionospheric radio propagation in the high frequency band, minimum usable frequency, scope, jump distances, near-vertical incidence, near-vertical incident skywave antennas, ionospheric propagation conditions in real time and ionospheric sounders networks. Kent R. Schneider, president and chief executive officer of AFCEA International, attended the conference and welcomed the participants, providing certificates of appreciation along with Lt. Gen. John A. Dubia, USA (Ret.), executive vice president of AFCEA International, and Kathleen Helm, senior director of Service Center Operations of AFCEA International.
