Statistics Showcase Cyber Challenges

In June, the chapter held its final session and annual general meeting in the Princess Mary Hall at Blandford Camp—home of the Royal Corps of Signals. Mike Corcoran, acting head of the Ministry of Defense Cyber and Influence Science and Technology Centre, delivered a timely and topical account of United Kingdom activity in the cyber and influence field. The statistics adduced showed an ever-increasing frequency of attacks. The attendees from military and industry were reassured to learn of increased cooperation across government and the close relations being developed with other nations to counteract the threat to our networks. A question and answer session capped off the presentation, and Russell Searle, chapter president, wrapped up the meeting with thanks for Corcoran.
