Awards Recognize Student Theses |
In September, the chapter awarded technical final thesis student awards totaling $21,635. The first award for $5,770 went to Jan Gassen, Bonn University, for his thesis on efficient malware clustering. Roland Müller of the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg received $4,327 for his master thesis on Open Geospatial Consortium sensor observation services for Global Positioning System and mobile sensors. Further recipients of $1,442 awards were Marc Arends, University of Koblenz-Landau; Thomas Breuer, University of Applied Sciences in Bonn-Rhein-Sieg; Stefanie Hegele, University of Bonn; Jonathan Kirchhoff, University of Bonn; Jan Leduc, University of Applied Sciences in Bonn-Rhein-Sieg; Cologne Jens Vieweg, University of Koblenz-Landau; and Martin Weier, University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg The chapter presented the awards at its international information technology symposium in Koblenz, Germany, in front of more than 400 participants. |
