Panel Discusses Information Technology Future

In September, the chapter hosted a timely discussion titled, “25-Point Plan: What's Next in IT.” Lisa Schlosser, deputy administrator, Office of E-Government and Information Technology, U.S. Office of Management and Budget, moderated the discussion. Panelist included Bajinder Paul, deputy associate administrator, Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies, U.S. General Services Administration; and Kenneth Rogers, director, Information Technology Strategic Planning Office, U.S. Department of State. The discussion gave insight into where federal chief information officers stand in meeting the objectives laid out by Vivek Kundra, former federal chief information officer. The discussion lead to how agencies will continue to drive information technology management reform for fiscal year 2012 under Steven VanRoekel, the new federal chief information officer. More than 260 attendees listened to the discussion at the Bethesda North Marriot and Conference Center. In addition, the chapter provided time for participants to network before the panel.
