In September, the chapter joined with the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate to sponsor the "Technology Visions for Network Extraction, Discovery and Analysis" (NEDA) workshop. The workshop aimed to cover broad research focus areas and the development of a plan for network extraction, discovery and analysis in the U.S. Air Force during the next decade. The workshop addressed four key areas: entity extraction; consolidation and relationship learning; network analysis and pattern discovery; and anomaly, deception detection and uncertainty. Workshop participates collaborated to identify technology gaps and formulate the right challenge problems from selected application domains to drive future research efforts.
