Awards Honor Teaching Success

In December, the chapter recognized the Military Lyceum "Araoz de Lamadrid" in Tucuman with a Science Teaching Tools award for the school's contributions to "Educational Robotics" for the 2011 to 2012 academic year. Rear Adm. Emilio Nigoul, ARA (Ret.), chapter president, presented a check from the AFCEA Educational Foundation to Col. Javier Marturet, EA, secretary of high education at the Military Lyceum, on behalf of teachers Julio Sagarese and Marcela Ugozzoli. The amount received will go toward material resources such as a microcontroller, user interface, power, communications and sensors. In addition, the chapter presented the Cyber Defense Competition award. Adm. Nigoul presented a check from the AFCEA Educational Foundation to professor Federico Olarte of the Military Lyceum "Espejo" in Mendoza on behalf of Cadet Jorge Ralo who won the competition. Also present at the event held at the Institute of Higher Education of the Army in Buenos Aires were Juan C. Fondevila Sancet, regional vice president; Maj. Gen. Norberto Dimeglio, FAA (Ret.), chapter first vice president; Col. Hugo Cargnelutti, EA (Ret.), chapter secretary; and Lt. Col. Raul Cantaluppi, EA, head of academic education for the Army.
