Local Science Teachers Honored

The chapter presented Science Teaching Tool awards totaling $6,000 to nine science teachers from the Augusta-Fort Gordon area in January. Horace Carney, chapter vice president for education, organized the application and selection process and hosted the teachers for a breakfast honoring them at the Augusta Canal Interpretive Center. Bob Damen, chapter president, presented the awards and certificates to each teacher. It was an exciting and collaborative event as each teacher described their projects and shared many ideas with each other.
