Bowling Tournament Raises Scholarship Funds

In March, the chapter hosted its first annual bowling tournament in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to raise funds for scholarships. The event drew more than 40 industry and government bowlers from the region with some traveling from the Washington, D.C., area. Bowlers of all skill levels battled it out across the lanes through three intense games. The highlight of the afternoon came when Bill McKnight, U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command Business Systems Center, Mechanicsburg Naval Support Activity, successfully bowled his first-ever perfect score. Tapestry Technologies sponsored the event, which ABC West Lanes hosted. The proceeds will help support both future chapter events and the chapter's Scholarship Foundation established to benefit students involved in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics program.
