Speaker Addresses State of Information Technology

Col. Robert C. Knutson, USA, director, Personnel Information Systems Directorate, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky, addressed the chapter in April and shared his insights on the state of information technology in the Army at Fort Knox, both now and in the future. Mike Edwards, chapter president, announced that the chapter had established and submitted its goals for the Model Chapter Award and that the chapter had successfully supported the Code PaLOUsa conference for a second year in Louisville, Kentucky, in March. In April, the chapter awarded two $1,000 Lift Off scholarships to two high school students, Emily Carmack and Landon Wilcox, and it presented an ROTC Honor Award to Cadet Mark Elliott at the University of Louisville. Also, the chapter received a $5,000 STEM Teacher Scholarship from Lockheed Martin that the AFCEA Education Foundation matched. Finally, Col. Harry Tunnell, USA, was recognized as an AFCEA Lifetime Member. Cohn and Associates Incorporated sponsored the luncheon.
