Annual Walk Supports Homeless Veterans

In honor of National Employee Wellness Day in May, the chapter proudly co-sponsored the Technology Acquisition Center's (TAC's) 1st Annual VA 2K Walk and Roll event with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More than 115 attendees participated in the walk on the boardwalk in Long Branch, New Jersey. The event encouraged employees at all levels of fitness to join in the fun, short walk while benefiting homeless veterans. Clothing donations and monetary contributions from AFCEA members and TAC and Office of Information and Technology employees and family members amounted to $5,812. Wendy McCutcheon, executive director, Office of Acquisition and Logistics, TAC, VA, and her team led by Carol Phelan, business resource manager, Office of Acquisition Operations, TAC, VA, have established a mission in Monmouth County that is dedicated to serving veterans. The chapter proudly supports the VA in this mission.
