Luncheon Covers Pathway to the Cloud |
At its May general membership luncheon, the chapter hosted Mike Beauford of Cloud Strike Force Federal Solutions. Beauford is a certified information systems security professional, certified enterprise architect and a trusted consultant of federal solutions for Hewlett-Packard. He has served previously as the information technology chief architect for Raytheon and the chief enterprise architect for the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium. In his presentation, “Pathway to the Cloud,” Beauford discussed Defense Department cloud trends amidst current budget constraints and the many challenges cloud architects face in delivering secure, robust solutions. During the chapter business portion of the luncheon, Lt. Col. Curtis Juell, USAF, chapter president, recognized Kevin Smith, chapter vice president, for his AFCEA Leadership Award and the chapter as a whole for its designation as an AFCEA Model Chapter for 2012. Both distinctions were recognized nationally at the Joint Warfighting Conference 2012. |
