STEM Scholarship Honors Teacher

In July, Col. Andy Thomson (Ret.) of the chapter's board presented Breanne Hughes with a $5,000 scholarship and certificate for winning the STEM Teachers for Americas Future Scholarship. The scholarship assists students actively pursuing an undergraduate degree, graduate degree or credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) subjects at a U.S. middle or secondary school. The chapter board selected Hughes from a pool of highly qualified nominees submitted throughout Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
