Lt. Col. Davin Keith, USMC, spoke on the presentation, "Joint Interoperability Test Command's Support to the Warfighter." The JITC is headquartered at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Lt. Col. Keith discussed warfare then and now, and stated, "It's all about putting steel on target."
He illustrated the importance and nature of communications in warfare. He mentioned how the Global Information Grid connects the warfighter. Lt. Col. Keith gave an overview of the JITC organization, reminding all that the JITC is the joint tester for interoperability, and he showed how it supports the warfighter. The JITC understands the needs of the warfighter, participates in many exercises, and performs real-time assessments of battlefield capabilities.
Lt. Col. Keith also discussed Radio Over IP Network (RIPRNET). He further commended the military, government civilians, and industry contractors on their efforts to work together toward common goals.
