TIDEWATER CHAPTER CHAPTER - Jul 18, 2013

Speaker Discusses Small Businesses

The guest speaker for the July luncheon was Becky Carpenter, the Air Combat Command's director of small business. Carpenter provided attendees with a lot of great information on the roles and functions this office plays in ensuring small business gets a “fair share” of contract consideration. She also discussed various regulatory mandates, such as the goal is that 23 percent of all eligible dollars obligated by the federal government should be awarded to small businesses. The chapter also recognized the AFCEANs of the Month for June and July, yearly membership pin recipients and confirmed 2014 Board of Director nominations.
