University Leader Discusses Information Technology

In August, the chapter welcomed Dr. David Lassner, vice president for information technology and chief information officer as well as acting interim president for the University of Hawaii (UH). Lassner gave the chapter an overview of information technology at the University of Hawaii System. He has succeeded in accomplishing more with less. This month, the chapter recognized Col. Reynold T. Hioki, USANG, chief information officer, Hawaii Air National Guard, as the chapter's Senior Government Leader of the Month. Karen James, chief executive officer, GeminiTech LLC, represented at the luncheon by Patrick Langton, was honored as the Executive of the Month. In addition, the AFCEAN of the Month was John Galliano, deputy director, U.S. Air Force Detachment 1, 561 Network Operations Squadron (NOS). Stephen Sims, U.S. Air Force Detachment 1 NOS, represented by Master Sgt. Jason Zarudny, USAF, was honored as the Young AFCEAN of the Month. The chapter congratulates and thanks all its awardees for inspiring the chapter with their hard work and dedication.
