Response Capabilities for Major Threats

In September, the chapter welcomed Francis A. Skip Hiser III, executive director, requirements and assessments for the commander, Naval Network Warfare Command, U.S. Navy. Hiser served 26 years in the Navy as a naval flight officer and information professional. He served as a mission commander in the P-3C Orion aircraft as well as two carrier tours as a tactical action officer on USS America and a combat systems officer on USS George Washington. Hiser delivered a powerful presentation on the “Readiness Kill Chain,” presenting the Naval Network Warfare Command's capabilities in a response to any major threat. He went into the limitations that could potentially be imposed to the nation's military response in the face of further budget cuts and provided his educated insight on current event issues in national defense ranging from China and Syria to Iran.
