SOUTH FLORIDA CHAPTER CHAPTER - Oct 10, 2013

Golf Tournament Raises Funds for STEM Scholarships

When the chapter selected Oct. 10, 2013 as the date for its 10th annual golf tournament, they were hoping the lucky number 10 would help ensure a successful event. It ended up being a perfect day for golf at Don Shula's Golf Club in Miami and with the help of chapter members and local sponsors, the event raised the necessary funds for the chapter to continue its legacy in South Florida of promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education through scholarships. The purpose of the annual tournament is to raise scholarship funds for the chapter's 2014 STEM initiatives. In 2014, the chapter will to continue to support Broward and Miami-Dade STEM leaders, schools, universities and most importantly students. Trophies were awarded to the top three teams and for several individual contests including closest to the pin, longest drive and hole in one.
