Chapter Supports Local Science Fair

In March, members of the chapter board were on hand at the Prince William County (PWC) Science Fair to serve as judges and to show the chapter's continued support of this important annual science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) event. The event was hosted at the PWC Administration Building and had projects on display from more than 100 students—making it one of the best fairs the chapter has had the privilege of judging. Bill Jones, chapter president, along with Alvie Johnson, chapter executive vice president, and Reginald Vaughn, vice president for education, spent more than three hours judging exhibits and learning from the students about their respective exhibits. Along the way, the chapter was pleased to award $1,000 in scholarships directly to the winning students for their hard work and dedication. The generous support from chapter members and the board's dedication to STEM allowed the team to donate $3,000 to PWC schools to help support the Science Fair. The chapter would like to thank the board and its members, especially, for continuing to allow the chapter to support such a worthy event.
