Annual Chapter Dinner |
The Annual Dinner of The Hague Chapter, Netherlands, was held on Thursday, 7 December 2006 at Sun Microsystems HQ in Amersfoort, Netherlands. Members were briefed by Martin te Dorsthorst, general manager of Sun Microsystems NL. Next, Chapter President Willem Voogt briefly reviewed chapter activities of 2006 and presented a preview of planned activities for 2007. This was followed by the unanimous re-election of the chapter board. Then Hans Appel, chief technology officer of Sun Microsystems NL, gave an inspiring lecture on the challenging aspects of current and future computer technology and its applications. As a special topic, Mrs. Coby de Jong and Mr. Joao Goncalves of Gassan Diamonds, Amsterdam, introduced the audience into the world of diamonds. As last part of the dinner, which was sponsored by Sun Microsystems NL, chocolatier Mr. Walter Englebert showed for an interested audience how to create exclusive chocolates. |
