Young AFCEAN Efforts Honored at West

The AFCEA International West conference was held in San Diego in February. The chapter was in attendance and brought home multiple awards. Mandi Septer attended the conference on behalf of the chapter in order to receive the Distinguished Young AFCEAN Award and while attending also picked up the 2014 Model Chapter of the Year and Model Young AFCEAN Program of the Year awards. Since inception, the chapter has distributed more than $45,000 in scholarships to high school students and future teachers focusing on a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) discipline, and in 2015, the chapter will continue this focus. Applications for Lift Off (high school) scholarships are being accepted now through May 1, and the STEM Teacher Scholarship cycle will kick off in March.
