YACs Run for Education

In August, the chapter's Young AFCEANs participated in the Run for Education 5K as part of their “Get Fit” program. The 5K run was sponsored by Project Perseverance, the Omega Iota Iota chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, and Up and Running Inc. Run proceeds supported scholarships and mentorships in the River Region of Alabama. Team YAAC did well in the event, with Chapter President Kameke Mitchell and Chapter Education Foundation Director Charisse Stokes placing among the top three women's finishers. Team YAAC is already looking forward to supporting more good causes via local runs n 2015.
