Chapter Honors Teacher With STEM Award

In October, the chapter gave its quarterly science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teacher award Alfredo Rendon. Rendon has taught at the Cardozo Education Campus in the TransSTEM Academy since 2009. Cardozo serves a community of learners who come with many challenges. Nonetheless, Rendon is able to instill in his students that they can and must achieve despite their circumstances. His dedication and commitment to children have always been at the forefront of his profession. Rendon is an extremely skilled technician and instructor in engineering, electromechanical technology training and robotics technology. He assisted with the FIRST Robotics Competition and prepared students for the regional competition. Rendon was also instrumental in securing the school's recognition as a fully certified program through the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians. He has constantly shown the highest level of competency, professionalism and integrity while striving to enrich the experiences of students in the educational setting.
