Speaker Discusses Sustaining Software Engineering

The chapter and the Tobyhanna Chapter of the Association of the United States Army co-hosted a November luncheon. The invited speaker was Robert Conway, program manager, Army and Missile Defense Agency, Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The institute is a not-for-profit Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) at Carnegie Mellon University that was established by the Defense Department to focus on software and cybersecurity. Conway discussed pertinent issues associated with a new post-deployment software support mission and provided an overview of the sustainment of software engineering best practices and the SEI's software Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
