DISA Officials Present Agency Needs at January Breakfast

The chapter kicked-off its 2016 breakfast series program with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Operational Leadership Improving Ops Capability. The event was a huge success, attracting a crowd of more than 500. The chapter hosted DISA A-list panelists, including DISA's Tony Montemarano, executive deputy director, who moderated the panel discussion along with John Hickey, CIO, David Mihelcic, CTO and Alfred Rivera, director, development and business center. The panelists provided a snapshot into the agency's 2016 direction, top priorities, key initiatives and budget challenges while reinforcing its mission to foster better collaboration with joint warfighting forces and cyber command. DISA expects industry to be a part of the effort. Hickey said we are in a fight every day and are always looking at new levels of thought to combat insider threat combining big data analytics with a focus on automation and virtualization. According to Rivera, DISA needs more robust industry engagement and welcomes industry to come see him.
