Army ROTC Awards Ceremony

The Chapter's Director of Young AFCEANs Dave McCartens presented the Distinguished AFCEA Award to Cadet MS III Herman P. Hoffman, Jr., USA, Reserve Officers Training Corps, Cramer's Saber Battalion at the University of Rhode Island (URI) awards ceremony in April. He was awarded for excellence in engineering academics and professional military standards. Since 1919 over 25,000 students have taken basic ROTC courses at URI. In 1986, the Rhode Island Cadet Battalion was named in honor of First Parker Dresser Cramer who fell in combat in 1963 in Vietnam.
