International Scholastic Award Winners |
In April, Col. Stamatis Smeltz, USAF, commander of the 609th Air Communications Squadron and chapter president along with James M. Crawford, chapter first vice president attended the 2016 Spring ROTC Awards ceremony at the Zone in Williams-Brice Stadium, home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. Col. Smeltz presented four AFCEA International Scholastic Awards to the following: Cadet Kurt D. Blumeyer, USA; Cadet Kyler J. Chern, USAF, a rising senior going into pilot training this fall; Midshipman Brandon A. McGee, USN, (absent); and midshipman Kenneth E. Hodges, USN. All exceeded the scholastic average of their peers in their respective science, technology, engineering and mathematics college discipline. |
