311th Signal Command Leader Speaks About Guarding the Network |
The chapter welcomed Maj. Gen. Lawrence W. Brock III, commanding general, 311th Signal Command (Theater), in July. Gen. Brock provided an excellent presentation about protecting the Army's network in the Pacific arena, which by nature is highly targeted. He reminded the audience that each person has a responsibility to protect the network and gave an example of how someone will always click on one of the links during phishing emails sent out during exercises. The general discussed the gap in communicating with coalition partners and allies during exercises. He mentioned the need for a consolidated coalition wide area network in which everyone could operate and communicate with each other. |
