The chapter recognized Sandy Forney, Lloyd McCoy and Adrian Hall in October for their contributions as volunteers. Since 2010, Forney has been the chapter's point of contact for the adopt-a-school program focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education at the K-12 level. She spent more than 200 hours planning and developing presentations and meeting with Robinson Secondary School. Forney authored grant applications resulting in more than $20,000 to improve the STEM curriculum there. McCoy has worked tirelessly to help make the chapter's IT Day events successful. He adds value to any situation and is always willing to assist the chapter. McCoy volunteers for multiple events. Hall has been an outstanding IT Day committee member. She contributed greatly to meetings, saving the team time, resolving issues and even securing two speakers for the event. Hall has great people skills and energy. She also stepped up and joined the Sponsorship Outreach Team. |
