PALMETTO CHAPTER CHAPTER - Nov 15, 2016 |
Security Virtualization Class |
In November, Tim Brown from Network Utility Force gave a class on security virtualization at the Carolina Skies Club on Shaw Air Force Base. The material covered was about new tools available to network and security architects to more deeply secure networks and allow more freedom in design challenges. Brown educated users on the virtual appliances now available (network and application firewalls, monitoring appliances, load balancers and intrusion detection) and described how these appliances can be used to solve emerging problems in the network security space at very high speed. Brown has 18 years of experience in network and security engineering and architecture, with experience at equipment manufacturers such as Cisco Systems, Internet and application service providers, online content distribution services and operational management in network operations and security operations centers. This class has AFCEA Credit Certifications: 1 CompTIA CEU A+, Network+, Security+ and CASP; 1 GIAC CPE. |
