PALMETTO CHAPTER CHAPTER - Mar 30, 2017

Battle of the Greens at Scholarship Golf Tournament

The chapter held its Crawford-Fuller Scholarship Golf Tournament in March at Shaw Air Force Base’s Carolina Lakes Golf Course. Chapter members and corporate sponsors supported the tournament with contributions to the chapter’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) scholarship and award programs. Scholarships are given to rising high school seniors and service personnel in their freshmen and sophomore years of college pursuing careers in STEM. Ten teams made up of four players each waged a battle of the greens to see who would win first and second place, closest to the pin and longest-drive awards. Lt. Gen. Michael Basla, USAF (Ret.), joined the battle of the greens along with former Chapter President Col. Joseph Sublousky, USAF (Ret.), U.S. Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) A6. Corporate sponsors were CDW-G, Intel, CACI, Fidelis Cybersecurity and Walker and Associates. Thanks to all who supported the golf tournament and the chapter’s efforts to promote STEM scholarship awards.
